Daniel Radcliffe Gets His Horn On

A sleeper hit, a Beat Generation movie, one rom-com, a musical in Broadway last year, West End theatrics next year, plus a dark comedy series on TV coming soon. It looks as though, despite being known primarily for his role as Harry PotterDaniel Radcliffe is not having a problem being cast in different roles.
As proof, we’ve got the first look at Radcliffe sporting the titular forehead-wear from his upcoming dark fantasy movie, Horns. Check him out here, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly:
What are your first impressions of Radcliffe’s new look? Whether you think the horns sprouting from him suit the guy or not, c’mon, seriously, who else are you going to cast as someone who has people constantly staring at his forehead? Radcliffe has years of experience in that role!

Based on Joe Hill‘s novel of the same name, Horns will star Radcliffe in another post-Potter expansion of his acting oeuvre. Radcliffe looks set to play Ig Perrish, a man accused of raping and murdering his girlfriend. In a strange twist of fate, he wakes up one morning with horns growing out of his head which give him the ability to make people confess their sins. In order to prove his innocence, the character must use these horns and the power they bring him to locate the true perpetrator of the crime and ensure justice reigns.
Radcliffe reportedly told EW that:
To play somebody who, in the midst of a time in his life of great turmoil anyway, undergoes this horrific transformation into a devil character  it was very, very exciting.
It sounds exciting, too. I’m pleased to see that Radcliffe isn’t just going for Hollywood’s classically good-looking type roles  his post-Potter projects so far have been interesting. With a script based on the horror novel from a major player in 21st century fantasy fiction and Alexandre Aja directing (he’s no stranger to horror thrillers, having previously directed Mirrors and The Hills Have Eyes) it looks like we could be in for a devilish treat.
